Piece created for the Lousal museum in Alentejo and inspired by the village, its history, or its environment. It began by photographing the village, its museum, mine ruins, and landscape. I found the landscape particularly intriguing due to its unique atmosphere and terrain.
Its an experience with color and photography to blur the line between reality and art, as Lousal's features can resemble edited images. This led to a collection of both altered and unaltered images. Embracing photography, there is an exploration of new materials to transform it into something sculptural and physical. The process included analog photography, cyanotype experiments, printing on acetate, and creating physical slides.
The final piece features a steel structure with vertical tulle layers, onto which the slides of Lousal's landscape are projected. This setup reflects the idea of the earth's surface.
